Former Houston WR Demarcus Ayers is joining Danny Gonzales’ staff at New Mexico. Ayers will assist with receivers, returners and Dallas/Houston recruiting. Ayers was the leading WR on Houston’s 2015 Peach Bowl-winning team that went 13-1. He joins three former Houston assistants that he played for: New Mexico OC Derek Warehime, QBs coach Drew Mehringer and special teams coach Jamie Christian.
